About

Colby Rough is a graduate architect based in Melbourne, designing civic, generous architecture for people, place and play.

Colby recently completed her Master of Architecture at the University of Melbourne, following a Bachelor of Architectural Design at Monash University. Her thesis, Open Ground, was awarded Second Class Honours, and her Studio E work received First Class Honours.

Alongside her studies she spent two years at Chamberlain Architecture & Interiors in Fitzroy, working across visualisation, presentations, documentation markups, modelling and interior elevations, often producing more than one hundred render iterations in a day, with exposure to schematic design and documentation phases and regular site visits.

Away from architecture, Colby has played domestic and representative Big V basketball her whole life, and has coached junior players for seven years. Her thesis brings the two together: an architecture of sport as a free public right.

Portrait to come
Colby was a valuable addition to the team during this time, with an exceptional work ethic, along with a can do attitude that allowed her to excel in numerous areas of the practice... I believe Colby will be a valuable addition to any practice now that she has completed her studies, and expect she will develop into a fine Architect.
